How to add FAQ schema to your website
FAQ schema is a block of structured data that lists the question and answer pairs on a page so Google can read them as questions and answers rather than as paragraphs. In WordPress, Rank Math and Yoast both have an FAQ block that writes it for you. On other platforms you paste a JSON-LD script into the page. Use it only on pages that really contain those questions and answers.
WordPress
With Rank Math: add the FAQ block to the page, type each question and answer, and the schema is written automatically. With Yoast: the same, using the Yoast FAQ block. With Elementor: use the FAQ or accordion widget and turn on schema in its settings, or add the Rank Math block in a text area. Check the result with Google’s Rich Results Test.
Squarespace, Wix, and others
Write the questions and answers on the page as normal text with headings. Then add a code block or the site’s "custom code" area with a JSON-LD script of type FAQPage listing the same pairs. Wix has a structured data panel under SEO settings for each page; paste it there.
By hand
A script tag with type application/ld+json, containing an object with @type FAQPage and a mainEntity list. Each item is a Question with a name and an acceptedAnswer with text. The text must match what is on the page.
When not to use it
Do not add FAQ schema to a page that has no visible questions, or to every page as a template. Google ignores it and may distrust the site. And do not use it for marketing lines phrased as questions; the questions must be ones people ask.

Does FAQ schema get me the rich result with dropdowns?
Google shows FAQ rich results only for some sites now, mostly government and health. The schema still helps Google understand the page for People Also Ask and AI answers.
Can one page have FAQ schema and how-to schema?
Yes, if it really has both. Keep each honest to the page.
How do I check it worked?
Paste the page address into Google’s Rich Results Test. It lists the questions it found.
